We are still the middle of a pandemic, however the well-being fitness and health centre, is open as per government guidelines.
The do's & do not's of returning to the fitness centre and what to do if you are not ready to return
... Do's!
Do's!
- Continue to socially distance when using equipment or in classes.
- It is essential that you wipe down all equipment, surfaces and areas both before and after usage. That includes door handles and toilet and changing areas. Think about other people.
- Remember the basics and stretch before and afterwards.
- Where possible book in advance to avoid overcrowding.
- Keep the windows open at all times. It promotes ventilation.
- Most importantly, keep up your fitness. The Coronavirus (Covid-19) has a worse effect on those with poor fitness. The Body Workshop strongly encourages you to join or re-join and get your cardiovascular system and Pulmonary and Systemic Circulation working!
- Did you know that the Body Workshop, Lewes is the only Lewes area gym fully ventilated!
... Do not's!!!
- If you have a cough or had a cough in the last 14 days, vaccinated or not, please stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days. Think of other people!
- Do not leave an area or piece of equipment, unclean after use.
... not ready to return ...
- Walk around the near area, for between 10 to 20 minutes. Any type of walk however, a speed walk will increase your heart rate and therefore increase oxygenated blood flow.
- If you have a stability ball (suggested exercises), then try sitting for a while using it to keep your stomach muscles, working.
- Stretching and at home movement. Even if you sit in your chair, each 20 minutes, stretch down and attempt to touch your toes. It all helps.
- If you have stairs then walk up and down each hour. It might appear boring yet it will get the blood moving. Otherwise, walk around your room, five times each hour.
- Keep routine ... wake up early ... sensible breakfast ... move as much as you can ... keep to only healthy food options (fruits and vegetables) ... attempt early nights.
